96% of Indian Professionals Admit Using AI at Work!
AI has become an integral part of working professionals in the field, whether IT or non-IT. AI tools like ChatGPT have drastically changed our working environment. “2025 Global Workplace Skills Study,” a study conducted by Emeritus, has revealed that AI is not only transforming the tech industry across the country but also the careers in India. According to the study, about 94% of Indian tech professionals believe that AI skills are important for career advancement.
The survey was done on 6000 professionals from 18 countries, where India emerged as the leader across the globe in AI adoption. The study found that out of 1700 Indian professionals who participated, 96% use Al tools at work, outnumbering the US (81%) and the UK (84%). The study also revealed that 95% of Indians who use AI tools have reportedly increased productivity, surpassing the global average.
AI Skills are a must for Career Success and Future Growth
AI is no longer a futuristic thing anymore; it’s very much present around us. While India is considered one of the most technology-friendly nations, 90% of Indians believe that prioritizing AI skills to stay updated and competitive is very crucial for career success.
The study also observed that 94% of Indians believe that expertise in AI is essential, which is significantly higher than the global average of 87%.

One of the top-looked upskills today in India, which is on the checklist of most tech professionals in India, is “Machine learning,” with twice the number in comparison to the global counterpart. Machine learning is a branch of AI that uses statistical models and algorithms to teach machines how to perform tasks. Machine learning systems can learn and improve on their own by analyzing data and identifying patterns.
Indian Companies leads in AI-driven upskilling
The study also found that Indian employers are focusing on workforce development to stay competitive in the market. About 73% of professionals report increased training investment, Which is above the global average of 46%. Advanced Training programs, career coaching, and monetary support for upskilling are key factors contributing to this development. As a result, many professionals expect employers to financially contribute to skill enhancement programs, which could lead to greater employee satisfaction and retention.
