Whatsapp keeps bringing the updates to make the user experience more and more better and now the Facebook-owned WhatsApp is rolling out a new beta on Android that includes a much-requested feature, i.e., an option to record voice notes hands-free within the app.

The beta users of WhatsApp has received the aforementioned update. With the update, the users can now lock the record the voice messages of their contacts on the phone. At the initial stages of this feature, it was at first released on iPhone in the month of November 2017.

This feature basically helped the iPhone users to conveniently record long voice messages without holding the record button down the entire time. According to some reports, WhatsApp might also add an option to play voice messages before they’re sent to the receiver.

The way it’s going to work for Beta users is that to lock recording of your voice messages, you will have to tap and hold the mic icon for 0.5 seconds and then slide up your finger toward the lock button.

Once the voice recording has been locked, now it can easily be sent just by hitting the Send button. This means that you’ll not be required to hold down the mic button for as long as you’re recording your voice message. Furthermore, you can anytime tap the Cancel button, available next to the timer.

According to WABetaInfo report, in the next release, WhatsApp for Android will also get the option letting users listen to their voice message before sending it to their contacts.

It is also stated that in the coming future, WhatsApp will get a feature to show the size of specific sticker packs before downloading them.To experience this feature on your Android device, you need to download the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.18.102 from the store, Google Play.
