With These 6 Easy Steps, You Can Check Your PF Balance Online
Currently, employees contribute 12% of their salary as monthly contribution to EPF and the same contribution is made by their employer. An employee’s 8.33% out of the total 12% of the employer’s contribution is invested in EPS or pension scheme. The balance 3.67% is then invested in EPF.
Do you know the total accumulated balance in your employees’ provident fund? Well, you don’t really have to wait for your employer to share the PF statement at the end of the year to know the balance.
You can yourself check balance from the comfort of your home with the help of any one of the four avenues which are EPFO portal, app, SMS, or by giving a missed call.
You yourself can check your balance, however, you need to have a Universal Account Number (UAN) by the EPFO.
In case you do not have your 12-digit UAN, you can get it activated through your employer to know the summary of PF deducted through EPFO portal.
All employees need to have only one UAN throughout their working life irrespective of the number of companies they change. It is a universal account number (UAN) which facilitates in linking of multiple EPF accounts of a member.
Follow these simple steps to see your EPFO account and view your provident fund passbook online:
-First, an employee needs to visit the EPFO website and log in to the member portal. Then enter your 12 digit Activated UAN number and password to view account details. Those who have not activated their UAN, can do it by clicking on the tab below. After entering the right credentials, it will take you total four days to activate your UAN.
-After logging and landing in the portal, you can then come across all kind of online services on the EPFO website. From there you can track your queries related to claim status, transferring request. It is required in case your current employer has created another UAN number to keep a track on your PF account.
-Click on the ‘view’ tab from all the tabs present on the dark green ribbon above. It will take you to visit your profile, service history, UAN card and your passbook address. The passbook address is a separate website link where you can view your PF account.
-Visit epfindia.gov.in website to view your PF passbook On this website you can take a look at various other details related to EPFO. Then click on the ‘For employees’ link which you will find in ‘our service’ tab and under our service tab. To view the EPF contributions by your employer click on the ‘member passbook’ link.
-You will then be redirected to a separate tab, where you need to re-enter your activated UAN and the same EPFO passwords which you used it for the EPFO member login portal.
-After entering your credentials, you can visit your EPF passbook and can take a look at your PF contribution made by the company on your behalf.
