Patanjali Ties Up With BSNL, Launches New Sim Card
Swami Ramdev who is a yoga guru and co-founder of Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. recently linked with Indian state-owned telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). Both the companies associated in order to provide SIM cards to their customers. The name of this SIM card is “Swadeshi Samriddhi” and Swami Ramdev himself launched the SIM card.
Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. on Twitter stated that the only the employees and office bearers of Patanjali will be able to get the benefits of Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM card. The Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM card will be given to the public only if the scheme turns out to be successful. According to Patanjali Ayurved, the profits that will be earned through Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM card will be contributed for the welfare of the country.
When the SIM card will be introduced to the public, 10 percent of discount on Patanjali products will be given to the customers with Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM card. The customers with this SIM card will get the benefit of health, accidental and life insurance. The customers will get a benefit of unlimited calls, 100 SMS along with 2 GB data at price of 144 rupees. The validity of this recharge pack hasn’t been decided yet by the company. The customers will soon get the Patanjali Swadeshi-Samriddhi cards through five lakh counters of BSNL.
Apart from the SIM card, Patanjali also launched a new swadeshi messaging application whose name is Kimbho. The company launched their messaging app so that they can give a direct competition to the popular messaging application ‘WhatsApp’. Kimbho has features similar to WhatsApp which includes private and group chats with free phone and video calling.
The application also allows the users to share text, audio, photos, videos, stickers, quickies, location, GIFs, and doodle. The new application was launched with a tagline “Ab Bharat Bolega”. Patanjali’s spokesperson SK Tijarawala also stated in a tweet that Kimbho will be a tough competition for WhatsApp, and the customers willing to use this app can directly download it from Google Play Store.
Earlier this year, Patanjali Ayurved launched their e-commerce operations with website Patanjaliayurved.net. The company partnered with e-retailers such as Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall, Bigbasket, and Grofers to sell their products. Patanjali Ayurved also mentioned that they want to make their products available to the customers around the country. The company is expecting to cross Rs.10 crore mark by December.
Acharya Balkrishna, managing director and CEO of Patanjali Ayurved, also mentioned that the e-commerce site will be beneficial for the customers and will help the company to reach more people. The website will provide an alternative mechanism to shop.
