OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T Finally Get Android Pie Update; Tap To Read
OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T are now receiving their Android 9.0 Pie-based OyxgenOS update.
Nights ago the tech brand launched the open beta of the Android Pie-based OxygenOS 9.0.0 update for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, not much time has been passed and now the Chinese smartphone maker now has released the final version of the Pie update for the two phones mentioned above.
The update, namely OxygenOS 9.0.0 update has now begun rolling out on December 25 and since the update is incremental, it won’t be reaching all the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T users at once it will reach the rest OnePlus 5 and 5T owners over the next few days. Both smartphones were originally launched in 2017 with Android 7.1.1 Nougat on board. The beta of the Pie-based HydrogenOS was released in late November, and it appears no stable version has yet been released.
Android 9 Pie for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T brings new features onboard including changes on the ‘System’ level, camera, gaming mode and others.
Here’s everything new:
–The system after the rolling out of this new update has updated the operating system to Android 9 Pie. It is a brand new Ul for Android Pie, including to the former update the new release has also brought brand new navigation gestures but it is only available for OnePlus 5T users. The system will now update the Android security patch to 2018.12
-Other system improvements include new Gaming mode which is now a 3.0 version itself. Text notification mode is also has been added now and users now will also receive notification for 3rd party calls.
-The whole new Do Not Disturb (DND) mode now comes with a few adjustable settings and camera now comes with an integrated Google Lens mode.
-OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T users who want to get the official Android 9 Pie OS, they can keep a check on the update by navigating through Settings > System > System Updates > Check for updates.
Those users who are on the beta version, they would have to wipe clean their handsets before moving to the official OTA channel. Otherwise, they won’t be receiving this version.
