Ola Aims To Create 3,500 Jobs As Part Of Haryana Govt’s ‘Saksham Saarthi’ Project
SoftBank-backed Ola on January 10 stated that the company is going to organise a “Ola Bike Maha Rozgar Mela” in Gurgaon that is going to last for total 3 days. With this Ola wants to target to create nearly 3500 micro entrepreneurs in partnership with the Government of Haryana with a scheme named ‘Saksham Saarthi’.
‘Saksham Haryana’ scheme was launched by Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar to skill and provide employment opportunities for the youth in the state. Launched on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, ‘Saksham Saarthi’ also commemorates the 3rd anniversary of Skill India Mission launched under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
These first-time entrepreneurs will also have the option to convert existing vehicles to yellow-board commercial vehicles. In July 2018, Ola had signed a memorandum of understanding with Department of Employment, Government of Haryana to create 35,000 livelihood opportunities in the State under the ‘Saksham Saarthi” programme. Through this one event, the target is to achieve 3,500.
Speaking on the occasion, Pranav Mehta who works as a Business Head at Ola stated. “Ola is committed to building a mobility ecosystem that is safe, sustainable and accessible for all, also creating livelihood opportunities for the youth in the cities. Haryana as one of our rapidly growing states has contributed significantly to the growth of the mobility economy in the country, specifically with pioneering modes of transport such as bike taxis.”
The Ola Bike Mela is scheduled for the January 10, 11 and 12 at the City Life Mall, Dundahera Village, Kapashera Border of Gurugram. Apart from guidance on new two-wheeler purchase and finance options, the Mela will also have a lucky draw that gives a chance to win a variety of prizes from LED TVs, to smartphones.
