Jio Announces VoLTE Based International Roaming Services In India
Yesterday Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. (Jio) launch the services of VoLTE based inbound International roaming between India and Japan.
This initiative has made Jio India’s first 4G mobile operator to provide VoLTE based international roaming services in India. With this service, international roamers will be able to enjoy roaming services on Jio’s network including HD voice and 4G high-speed data.
Japan-based KDDI Corporation after this move by Jio now has become the first international mobile service provider to avail of Jio’s VoLTE calling and LTE data international roaming service to the international travellers
with access to high-speed data and voice services on Jio’s all-IP, 4G-exclusive network.
Adding to their achievement Mark Yarkosky said that“Reliance Jio is focused on delivering the best data and voice experience to all of India and those who visit India. We welcome KDDI customers to Jio as the first international VoLTE and HD roaming users in India”
International travellers now finally will be able to experience Jio’s world-class all IP network, which earlier already has been rated as the fastest network in India by TRAI’s MySpeed application.Reliance Jio emerged as the fastest 4G operator with its average peak download speed in October at 22.3Mbps in TRAI‘s report. Jio’s national average of 4G download speed was more than double compared to its rival Bharti Airtel, that had a download speed of 9.5 Mbps last month.
Jio is also consistently rated to have the widest LTE coverage in the country. With its commitment for making available comprehensive and innovative offerings to the nation, Jio surely has transformed data consumption in India, turning the country into the world’s largest consumer of mobile data and has catapulted it to the 9th largest mobile operator in the world with over 252 million subscribers right now.
The telecom operator is expanding into the broadband market next with JioGagaFiber. According to recent reports, JioGigaFiber will be initially rolled out in 29 cities across the country. Even though registrations for JioGigaFiber have been going on for quite some time now, the company is yet to announce an official time for the service launch.
