Update Aadhaar-Registered Number & Find UID Easily, Here’s How

Do you want to update your mobile number registered with Aadhaar? Then you need to first visit an Aadhaar centre. The UIDAI or Unique Identification Authority of India issues both Aadhaar number and Aadhaar card to the citizens of India and also provides various facilities online for those who have an Aadhaar card or they have applied for the new Aadhaar card and are waiting for one. These facilities include one that enables a user to retrieve a lost Aadhaar number and another that verifies the mobile number registered with Aadhaar.

If someone wants to change the mobile number registered with the Aadhaar system then you need to have biometric authentication by the person and that’s why it is required for the user has to visit an Aadhaar centre which can be either an independent Aadhaar centre or it can be a one located in either a bank or a post office or in person. Anyone can verify their mobile number or email registered with the Aadhaar system online through the official website of UIDAI portal that is uidai.gov.in. This feature can be accessed by taping on the option ‘Verify Email/Mobile Number’ link on the UIDAI portal’s homepage.

In the next step, the user needs to enter details such as Aadhaar number along with either the mobile number or email address the user wants to verify. Once you have filled the required details, the user needs to click on ‘Get OTP’ (one-time passcode) to proceed. Once that process has been completed, the user will receive the OTP on the mobile number registered with the given Aadhaar number.

Those who are not able to locate the nearest Aadhaar centre, they can click on the ‘Locate Enrolment & Update Centres’ link present on the UIDAI homepage. After clicking on the link another page pops-up in which the user is shown with a variety of options to select the desired search preferences. The user can choose from options like state, pin code and district as per the person’s preference or requirement. After providing the necessary inputs, the user can proceed by clicking on the option ‘Search’.

A user can retrieve an Aadhaar number or Enrolment ID (EID) which can be accessed by clicking on ‘Retrieve Lost UID/EID’ from the portal using the UIDAI tool. The user needs to select between Aadhaar Number and Enrolment Number, depending on the desired feature. After the required option has been selected, one needs to fill in details like name and mobile number in the present fields, and then have to click on the option of ‘Send OTP’. Once the process has been done, the user will receive the OTP on his or her registered mobile number soon.
