What is Aadhaar UIDAI Internship Program and How to Apply!
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) offers an internship scheme that provides students with hands-on experience in various technology tracks, legal domains (e.g., cyber laws/IT acts), and general management. Interns will gain valuable insights into UIDAI’s operations and technologies, enhancing their future career prospects in niche technology areas, legal fields, management, and beyond.
Objective: The scheme aims to connect young academic talent with UIDAI’s work for mutual benefit. Interns can understand UIDAI’s functioning, contribute ideas, and receive research support, while UIDAI benefits from fresh perspectives and academic expertise.
Duration Of This Internships Program:
- Internships last between six weeks and twelve months.
- Note: Interns who do not complete the required duration will not receive a certificate.
Location:
- Interns may work at UIDAI’s Technology Centre in Bengaluru, regional offices, or UIDAI Headquarters.
- Remote internships are also available under the guidance of a project supervisor (minimum rank: director).

- Non-Technical:
- UG in relevant fields (Premises): ₹20,000
- PG in relevant fields (Premises): ₹30,000
- UG in relevant fields (Remote): ₹10,000
- PG in relevant fields (Remote): ₹15,000

Logistics:
- Basic lodging is available at UIDAI Technology Center on a payment basis.
- Office internet access is subject to the discretion of the supervising officer.
- Interns must arrange their own accommodation, transport, and bring their own laptops.
Experience Certificate:
- UIDAI will issue a certificate upon completing the internship, subject to satisfactory performance and recommendation by the reporting officer.
Eligibility:
- Must be a citizen of India.
- Should be a bona fide student of a recognized university/institution in India or abroad.
- Must meet at least one of the following:
- A) In the 3rd or 4th year (final or pre-final) of B.Tech/BE with at least 60% marks in prior semesters.
- B) Completed/appeared for the 1st year or 2nd semester of a postgraduate program, or pursuing a PhD with at least 60% marks in graduation.
- C) Graduates/PG students waiting for admission to higher studies or jobs with 60% or more cumulative marks, and the period since final exam results is within six months.
Fellowship Eligibility:
- Must be registered for a PhD at an Indian institution.
- Fellowships are for 6-9 months (extendable to 12 months) in areas including computer science (e.g., IT Act, Cyber Laws, Data Privacy, Cyber Security, Digital Economy, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, AI, Machine Learning, and Big Data Analytics) and public policy and management.
