WhatsApp allows you to read chats without opening the app
If you want to secretly read a message on WhatsApp without opening the application then you need turn off the ‘Read Receipts’ option given in the privacy section of WhatsApp’s setting. But, the problem is that you won’t be able to check whether your messages have been read by your friends or not.
Another way to read messages without triggering the blue ticks is by enabling the Flight Mode before you read the messages on your chat window. After reading the messages, close the app from the multi-window before turning the Flight Mode off.

WhatsApp has recently added this new feature in which the user gets the option to retrieve their deleted media content. You can retrieve the media file from the WhatsApp’s server for up to 30 days. But the users who have deleted their chat history don’t have the advantage to retrieve the media files.
