BSNL Announces 300 Management Trainee Vacancies; Tap For Details

According to the official reports, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has invited applications for the posts of Management Trainee (MT). Total 300 vacancies are available for the post, out of which 150 vacancies will be filled from external candidates.

According to BSNL, the process of online registration for the applications will begin starting from December 26, 2018, and the last date of registration is January 26, 2019, so make sure you apply for the post as soon as you can. The selection for the process will be done through the online assessment process, document verification, group discussion and interview and the online assessment process will be held from March 17, 2019.

However, the process of filling the other 150 vacancies has not been announced yet, but let’s take a look at some important details regarding the post of Management Trainee (MT). Commencement of online application process will begin starting from December 26, 2018, while the last date to register online is January 26, 2019, and the beginning date of Online Assessment Process: March 17, 2019

Pay Scale

The Management Trainee will be provided with a pre-revised IDA pay scale of Rs 24,900 to 50,500 along with an annual increment that is @ 3% of basic pay plus IDA, HRA, Perks, Medical Benefits etc.

Eligibility Criteria

An applicant’s age should not exceed 30 years as on August 1, 2019, and must have Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology degree or equivalent engineering degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer/IT & Electrical. The minimum qualifying marks are 60% for general and OBC category while it is 55% for SC/ST candidates.

Pattern of Examination

The online assessment test will be comprised of management aptitude, cognitive and technical knowledge sections. The test in total will consist of three sections – Management Aptitude, Cognitive Ability and Technical knowledge. The test will be of maximum marks 450, 25% marks will be deducted if an applicant marks the wrong answer in the test.

The minimum qualifying marks are for general candidates is of 40%, 36% for OBC category and 33% for SC/ST candidates. The merit list for group discussion and interview will be prepared based on the marks obtained in all three sections in the online assessment process.

Selection Process

Candidates who will be applying for the aforementioned post provided by BSNL will have to appear for an Assessment Process. Candidates will be called for Document Verification, Group Discussion and Interview, depending on the marks they have scored in the written test. The ratio of candidates who will be called for document verification, group discussion and interview will be 2:1.

The final merit list will be based on a candidate’s overall performance in the online assessment process, group discussion as well as an individual’s interview. The examination authority will give 75% weightage to the online assessment process, 12.5% each to group discussion and interview.


Violation of any of the instructions issued along with the admission certificate or at any other stage will make the candidate liable to be disqualified in the examination.
